Dogs have to have some fun in their lives, don't deprive them of play time. Giving them toys is a great way of satisfying their play time and helping them get exercise also. Toys are fun and can give the dog something to play with for hours on end. Since self esteem is critical for dogs of all ages, don't forget to make a big deal about his trick so that he knows he is still top dog! Remember, dogs love to work so spend a few minutes teaching him a new trick and he'll enjoy the attention as well as the special treats.

Many toys can be seen as comforting to dogs and if you get a toy which really makes the dog feel safe and at ease then you will find that it will quickly become a comfort toy. But this is good because it can always comfort a dog if it is scared or lonely; it is a great thing for the dog to turn to just in case something does happen.
