You can substitute chopped apple, mashed banana, or sweet potato for the carrots. I've made it with fresh baked pumpkin too.

TIPS FOR THROWING A DOG BIRTHDAY PARTY
  1. Make sure all the dogs get along
  2. Have the birthday party in an area large enough to accommodate all the guests. Limit guest list to four or five dogs if it is an indoor party. Invite up to twenty if the party is held outdoors, either in your own backyard or a dog friendly park.
  3. Bring water and bowls for the dogs
  4. Keep paper towels nearby for pickup.
  5. Hold the party in the morning when dogs are lively and no one is too grouchy.
  6. Bring sturdy paper plates to serve each dog a piece of birthday cake.
  7. Have food and beverages available for the people too.
  8. Dress up the dogs. While most dogs will not willingly wear party hats - heck, even kids don't like those - dogs will wear scarves or bandanas. You may want to go to the fabric store and purchase a length of material that you can cut into bandana-sized scarves with pinking shears so all the party dogs have something to wear.  Or, contact us, and we will be happy to do it for you!

How Old Are They Really?

Try this formula for a more accurate idea of how old your dog really is:

At the age of one, a dog's life is equal to 15 years and at the age of two, a dog's life is equal to 25 years. Every year there after is equal to 3 "Human Years" Here is an example: A dog that is ten years old:
15 + 10 + (3x8)=49!

A 15 year old dog would be: 15 + 10 + (3x13)=64!

Not only on his birthday but all year long, show your best friend plenty of love, attention and respect.

Remember, the same rule that applies to kids, applies to furry kids as well. Too much is not good for them!
