Easter Dog Treats & Games

   EASTER FUN With your PUP!

Set up a hunt for them on Easter.
Design an Dog Easter hunt meant specifically for dogs. Hide treats all over your yard or house and watch as your dog searches each item out.

Customer suggestion:  We have done this for several years.  Purchase the smallest little plastic eggs that open up.  Soak them in beef or chicken broth for 15 - 30 minutes (to get absorb the smell).  Place a meaty treat inside and hide.  You'll need to assist you pup until they get the hang of the game. Please supervise to be sure the pup does not try to chew and/or swallow the plastic.  Only you know your dog and his/her tendencies.

Make them an Easter basket. Present your dog with a basket full of their favorite treats on Easter morning. Load it up with biscuits, doggie toys, and bite sized dog morsels or make the easy Easter Paw-rade Snacks (recipe below).

Easter Paw-rade Snacks

Watch the paw-rade go by while your dog snacks on theses tasty banana and honey cookies. Banana is probably a canine's favorite fruit. Dogs love the smell, the soft texture and the sweet taste.

Makes 30 - 40
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 - 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

10 oz  Wheat and gluten free flour
1 Egg, beaten, plus extra for brushing
1 Banana, mashed
2 Tablespoons Honey
2 drops of pure Vanilla Extract
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Cold Water

To Decorate:
2 oz. Low-fat Cream Cheese
1 drop of Natural Yellow Food Coloring
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

1. Mix all the cookie ingredients in a large mixing bowl until they come together to form a dough. Add a little more cold water, little by little, if the mixture is too dry. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until firm, then roll out to 1/4" thick. Cut out shapes with an Easter bunny cookie cutter (or any other shaped cookie cutter, as these treats are simply too good to make only at Easter).

2. Transfer the cookies to a greased baking sheet, spaced 1/2 inch apart, and brush with beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven, 325 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes until firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.

3. To decorate, beat together the cream cheese, coloring and olive oil and transfer to a piping bag fitted with a fine nozzle. Pipe designs on to the Easter bunny cookies and allow to harden. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

TIP: Doughs made with wheat & Gluten-free four are not always firm enough to be rolled out, so if your dog doesn't have a wheat or gluten allergy, use standard plain flour instead.

Remember: Don't give your dogs any Easter chocolate. Chocolate can be fatally toxic to dogs. Be sure any children around them also know not to feed them chocolate or candy!

....and for that special Easter Outfit to make this an Easter to Remember!
